This is in this weeks issue.

They might be the kid brother of the Chicago emo scene. But The Audition are all grown up and ready to flee the nest.

"Alot of the songs are more sexual," says The Audition singer Danny Stevens, a tall, good-looking chap with an infectious cheer about him. "I think everyone likes a good sexual song," he continues, describing his band forthcomeing second album, the cockily titles Champion. "Everybody wants sex, no matter who you are, everybody wants it. Not everybody gets their heart broken in their lives, but everybody wants to have sex. Its the law of nature."
It's a Snowy day in Long Island, just outside of New York City and we're huddled round the fire in the lobby of the hotel where The Audition have just spent the night, in antipication of kicking off a warm up tour to promote their second full length album. High spirits are the order of the day, the band frequently pauseing to trade jokey barbs at each others expense.
"Why you gotta stare him down like that bro?" chuckles drummer Ryan O'Connor when guitarist Seth Johnson introduces himself with a stern look: a look that will shorty dissolve into a friendlier, more relaxed manner.
An afternoon in The Audition's company will offer several things, includeing a picture of a band who are right now walking many lines: the one between endeering youthful enthuaism and a noticeable confidence, even savvy, for starters. What do The Audition thing about 'cocky' being the new black?
"We've been that way since day one, honestly thats just our mentality," explians bassist Joe Lussa, at 23, the 'grandpa' of the band. "So champion is like the champion inside of ourselves, all these things should be called 'In Yo Face' to all those people who talked shit about us"
What kind of shit?
"No one ever wanted to give us a shot, we always felt like underdogs," says O'Connor, compleating the bassists thoughts. "Comeing from Chicago, all these bands that are huge, we've always felt just under the radar."
But doesn't everyone say that. Even hugely sucessful bands like Fall Out Boy?
"What do you mean? They blew up within like a year and a half. Seeing them and the Plain White Tee's have this sucess just makes you want it more." admits O'Connor "Because you know it could happen. It just gives you more hope."
(I'll post the rest some other time!)

^Dont worry Katie, its easier to scan it than type it up, I should have remembered to do it when I said I would but I have now.

I love this pic and I wish it was on just one page instead of over two so I could put it on my wall without Tim's head being cut in two
